Ongoing Projects

Reassessing Gandhi

Our longest-running project is “Reassessing Gandhi,” which has three primary goals:

1) Educate individuals, especially those in social and political leadership positions, about the damage done by Gandhi to minorities of Indian origin.

2) Work for removal of all Gandhi statues, particularly those located on public lands in the United States of America, most of which are funded by the Indian government.

3) Promote Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar as the true hero of India’s minority populations.

Past Projects

March 2013 – OFMI Launches White House Petition to Reassess Gandhi

OFMI launched a White House petition requesting Obama to reasses his praise of Gandhi.

December 2011 – Denial of US Visas for Indian Police Officers

In response to plans by three top-ranking Indian police officers to conduct a lecture tour in the USA, including New York, Texas, Michigan, and areas of California such as Los Angeles, Bakersfield, Fresno and Tracy, OFMI launched a campaign requesting the US State Department deny entry visas based on the Indian police record of human rights atrocities.
